ModeratorWelcome to RPG Discovery!
We all love Dungeons and Dragons, the game that has defined the tabletop RPG genre for decades, but let’s be honest, sometimes you just want to try something a little different. For those players, we have RPG Discovery.
For those who have an itch to explore the outer reaches of space or deep horrors of ancient evils, be a vampire or immerse themselves in their favorite licensed property. For those that would like to know what a percentile system looks like in practice or tackle the massive amounts of d6s in Shadowrun. For those that would like the forget numbers altogether and experience a narrative dice system… For whatever reason you have, RPG Discovery is for you.
These games are intended to facilitate players in exploring the wider world of Tabletop RPGs. Games consist of one-shot or two-shot introductory sessions to allow players to learn the ins and outs of a new system and potentially grow new and diverse private games outside the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

*Systems have specific games or closely related games listed after them in parentheses.
**Old School Revival, more typically written as OSR is not so much a system but a family of games made possible by Wizards of the Coast releasing an open gaming license in 2000. They are games based off and tonally similar to the original Dungeons and Dragons game released in 1974, as such one should not expect ‘balance’ in these games but a great deal of engagement between the Game Master and Players

ParticipantHey hey, Jordan here. I am pretty much down to try any system at this point. Starfinder, Shadowrun, deep horrors, vampires, or whatever else. Looking for a player who will be a guinea pig for your DM ideas? You found him. Let’s roll some dice. Or flip a card… or whatever lol.

ModeratorThe list has been updated to reflect some of the major titles and systems in Tabletop Roleplaying Games. While it should be obvious I’m personally someone that is interested in how different companies and games have taken on the challenges of creating a TRPG I am by no means an expert and this is by no means a comprehensive list. As I’m writing this I realized I have completely forgotten to include GURPS in the list one of the classic base game systems. Feel free to suggest additions and corrections, as my knowledge of a game or system’s existence does not indicate a detailed understanding, White Wolf’s World of Darkness games are a great example of something I know exist but do not know a great deal beyond the broad strokes (Vampire the Masquerade, etc.).
This list is not intended to be intimidating to new players, nor a demand for gameplay outside of DnD. It is meant to simply inform those who might be interested in different TRPGs what options they might have and who else would be interested in joining them. You are encouraged to look anything and everything up online, it’s an interesting and massive world of TRPGs out there.
